Magazines/ Collectives That Have Inspired Me

I <3 FAKE

I like the use of the full bleed image again and the large bold logo stands out, they have chosen to use a white background for their logo, I use black and use lighter images for it to stand out.

Hero Magazine

HERO is our antidote to the stuffy and over-thought cultural dryness that has gripped menswear publishing. We strive to make a magazine and website that are not afraid to be visually led and arresting – have beautiful photography, amazing fashion and great, informal interviews with actors, designers and friends – and for that to be something to celebrate and revel in.

Again, I find myself looking at really contrasting bold designs, even though this is a screenshot of the magazine cover, the aesthetics and style can be transfered onto a website design, in a way they work side by side.

Dust magazine

The thing that I like about DUST as a collective is that it isn't convention, everything is just different about their works.
One thing that I dislike about the website design is that the categories text on the left hand side of the page is not as legible as it could be. See below picture. Even the magazine logo is a similar if not the same hard to read text!

I think that it would be easier to read if the text was different however it is in-keeping with the brand identity.

duST IS A NEW REFRESHING FASHION & ART MAGAZINE. WITH A BIANNUAL PUBLISHING FREQUENCY, DUST WAS BORN IN EARLY 2010 WITH THE DESIRE TO PROVIDE A NEW AND DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW TO THE FASHION MAGAZINE MARKET.
